MISTLETOE IS NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS
Inspired by the cover of the Golden Bough I created this illustration for my book. Using Mistletoe as a complementary therapy alongside my cancer treatments I found that is not just for kissing under.

PEONIE ROSE
Walking around my garden I still get taken aback when I come across this flower. It’s beauty and subtle fragrance fills me with joy. At first it struggled but then it found it’s feet.

REPRODUCTION
An Allium head from the garden is a ball of white flowers. Looking close-up, seeing the stamens and seed pods, you know it is ripe for REPRODUCTION - all the equipment is at the end of a stem.
Available as a PRINT. -
CUCKOO IN THE NEST
Looking the peonie rose bloom I noticed the centre with it’s halo of orange stamens were the seeds, looking like a nest of hungry birds, with a CUCKOO in their midst.
Available as a PRINT. -
DENNIS THE MENACE
The Beano and Dennis the Menace is my reaction to the beetle sitting on the tiny Allium flower. What mischief can he make and like the comic character the beetle is wearing a stripy jumper.

A moo cow in the field is curious to see the good companions tramping across the field and being extra careful not to step in any cow pats. They are heading for the trees.

I know Tiggers don’t climb trees, but this one does, and calls to the friends as he wants to join the merry band as they continue on their quest.
Available as a PRINT. -
I AM A MOLE AND I LIVE IN A HOLE
This reflection in my mirror was my comb over breakdown moment when my hair started to fall out. As I gingerly brushed, it reminded me of a certain orange ex-Apprentice host …
Available as a PRINT. -
MOLE LOVES WORMS
After any adventure there is a always afternoon tea. Spiders chips for the Owl, lettuce for the Tortoise, a sausage for Tigger and a big juicy earthworm for Mole.

THE LABYRINTH
The hospital in Taunton is a labyrinth of buildings that sprung up in the grounds around the old 1942 hospital, with the building maze linked by corridors and walkways. All very Greek.

THE NEWS

THE FIRST CYCLOPES
Seeing the large polo shaped CT scanner I knew I would be meeting the Cyclopes as in the Homeric epic of my journey back home. This is a line drawing using photos from my iPhone.

Here’s my hero who drove me to all appointments in the West Country Fair, from Devon to Stroud with Somerset in between, except for just one, and you can read about that in my book.

Available as a PRINT. -
COMB OVER
This reflection in my mirror at home was my comb-over breakdown moment when my hair started to fall out. As I gingerly brushed, it reminded me of a certain orange ex-Apprentice host.

MAKE UP
On the invitation of my Macmillan nurse I attended a ZOOM call with a make-up expert. One really helpful exercise was how to draw eyebrows, especially useful as they disappear.
