Met my first pelican face to face on a pier in Santa Barbara, California, he was trying to knock over a tank to get to the fish. Looking like an old sea mariner with salty tales to tell.

I once told the late Prince Phillip my pelican tale. The Lovers is love’s young dream, followed by the split with Pelican Crossing and finally Pelican Nesting is the lone single mum and he laughed.

I was ask to complete the set of Pelicans for a commission, with Pelican Crossing and Pelican Nesting the results. They are such quirky birds and I love seeing them fly like a squadron of jet planes.

A long title but it reminded me of the moon landing, something about eagles. Cast in bronze resin but his one has been coloured with graffiti paint.

Looking out the Mendips, the Acrobat looks ready to roll down the hill. For this commission, 6 were cast and placed on different sides in the circus ring giving a sense of tumbling.

This my version of Botticelli’s Venus as part of my Art Appreciation series of paintings as sculptures. First seeing this painting of the goddess emerging from the water on a giant scallop shell in the Uffizi Gallery, Firenze in 1969. Image also used by Adobe for early Illustrator logo.

PICASSO 2 VELASQUES was inspired by a painting by Picasso from a series based on his response to the Velasques painting 'Las Meninas’. In the Picasso museum in Barcelona a whole room is dedicated to all the paintings he made on aspects of that old masters painting. This figure is of the little princess, with varies 4 small images around the base.

MARIE daughter of the people was inspired by Modigliani. I was fortunate to see an exhibition of his portraits and nudes in London. He originally work in stone alongside Brancusi but because of the scarcity of stone during the First World War focussed on painting, and I saw some of these at a different exhibition at the Tate Modern in London. My Sculpture really came to life when I painted it, and each one I do this way is unique.

Outside an airport terminal building I saw a man carrying his child on his shoulder. This made such an impression on me that I made this St Christopher like figure.

Base on the pose of that famous Vermeer painting this girl has a real pearl earring. It is a little figure in Polished bronze with a shock of red lipstick, and she was just a lowly serving girl.
